In this episode, Dr. Christina Mathis explores the importance of systems - primarily policies, curriculum, and assessments - and how solid systems can benefit piano studios.

Key points:

Every studio already has systems, whether or not they are intentional.
Curriculum is one of the most formative systems in a studio.
Practice expectations are often the greatest source of tension in the studio.
Grades, evaluations, and festival preparation should reflect your pedagogical values, not override them.
Policies that align with your values allow you to teach from a place of calm authority rather than constant negotiation.
